As we approach the end of 2025, we’ve been reflecting on what a whirlwind this year has been. When the year began, we didn’t know exactly what would come next; only that we were determined to keep doing the work we love. Out of that determination, Root to Rise was born.

In just six months, we’ve grown from an idea to a thriving nonprofit, and it’s been incredible to see how much we’ve accomplished together.

This year, with your encouragement and support, we:

Launched Root to Rise from the ground up to help communities access the health products and care they need

Earned early trust and investment with grants from the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Gates Foundation, a powerful vote of confidence in our mission

Expanded our reach in Nigeria, Uganda, South Africa, and Kenya to support the introduction of a groundbreaking HIV prevention product, lenacapavir

Backed local leaders who are keeping vital health programs running, even as global funding becomes harder to secure

We’re deeply grateful for everything we’ve achieved together, and are excited to keep building on this momentum.
