Root to Rise is supporting countries to prepare for the future introduction of MK-8527, an investigational once-monthly oral pill for HIV prevention now advancing through phase 3 trials. As a next-generation option with the potential to expand PrEP choice beyond daily pills and injectables, MK-8527 will require markets and health systems that are ready to absorb it. Drawing on lessons from lenacapavir and earlier PrEP rollouts, we are developing country introduction roadmaps that help governments and partners anticipate access barriers, prioritize readiness investments, and turn emerging evidence into practical steps for future MK-8527 introduction.
