Ademola Osigbesan is a pharmacist and global health professional with nearly two decades of experience expanding access to essential health products across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He has led the introduction and scale-up of quality-assured medicines and diagnostics for infectious diseases, women’s health, and non-communicable diseases, including during his tenure at Unitaid and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). His work focuses on designing and implementing sustainable access roadmaps that integrate regulatory strategy, quality assurance, and innovative financing so that new products move efficiently from pipelines to national programs.
Ademola has a strong track record of facilitating collaboration across governments, development partners, and industry, and of shaping strategies to strengthen climate-smart regional manufacturing of essential health products in Africa. He supports organizations to navigate complex global health markets in pursuit of Universal Health Coverage.
Ademola is currently a PhD researcher in Development Economics at SOAS University of London, focusing on the political economy of pharmaceutical manufacturing value chains in Africa. He holds a Master’s in Development Policy and Practice with Distinction from the University of Cape Town, an MBA with Distinction from the Business School Netherlands, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Ibadan.
