Alisa Alano is a global health and development leader with over 20 years experience designing and managing public health and humanitarian programs across Africa, Asia and Latin America. In partnership with donors, host governments, civil society, and private sector partners, she has successfully led complex initiatives with a focus on equity, innovation, and empowering local leadership. Her most recent role was directing operations for an HIV prevention project in 10 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
At Root to Rise, Alisa brings expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, business development, and organizational transformation. As Board President, she is dedicated to ensuring that Root to Rise is built on a foundation of excellence, accountability, and impact.
Alisa is committed to advancing health equity, driving innovation, and supporting local leadership to make transformative health care accessible to all.
She holds an MPH from Tulane University, and a MS and BS from University of Maryland.
