Lilian Tutegyereize is a seasoned global health and development professional based in Uganda with more than 18 years of experience advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), including HIV prevention, family planning, cervical cancer, and maternal health. She brings deep expertise in policy development, program design, and implementation—working directly with national and sub-national governments to strengthen primary healthcare and community-based services, with a strong focus on adolescent girls, young women, and other priority populations.
Lilian has led technical assistance for the introduction and scale-up of innovative health products, including DMPA-SC (Sayana Press) and emerging HIV prevention methods. Her work spans implementation science, evidence translation, capacity strengthening, social behavior change, and advocacy. She has also served on global leadership teams focused on gender integration and meaningful youth engagement.
In addition to her public sector experience, Lilian has worked at the intersection of health and the private sector—engaging in social franchising, medical detailing, and championing the role of community health workers.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Development Studies from Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda.
